Nature Lover

While attending the Interior Design Show in Toronto a couple of weeks ago, I came across an artist that stopped me in my tracks. Lori Harrison has an aesthetic that caught my eye immediately, and a mission and story behind her designs that I relate to entirely. Showcasing a beautiful collection of art, furniture and textiles, the Fundy Cushion below drew me in: Being told her inspiration for this print was after a recent trip to the east coast of Canada, I couldn't help but be enthralled. The inspiration for this particular pillow - the image below of the flaking paint on this shed in Fundy National Park. Remember my very first post? Make sure to take a  look, particularly the final image and first paragraph. I was speechless! I sure know a good design when I see one ;) More examples of my love for nature and it's weathering on beautiful structures can be seen here, here, and  my all time fave here. My memories of the east coast are very dear to me, which I sometimes lose sight of living in a hectic city. A quote that is always present in my mind, especially during those creative funks: "Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you."                                                                                                  - Frank Lloyd Wright (Images above were sourced here.)
